STYLIZED CLOISONNE ANIMAL SCULPTURE
Stylized cloisonne animal sculptures like this are typical of the Quinlong era (1736-1795). The Emperor Qianlong was fascinated by the luxurious color of the Chinese cloisonne or "Blue Jingtai" and he commissioned large quantities of incense burners, flower baskets, sculpture with floral or animal motifs and ceremonial vessels decorate the imperial palace.
